Italian violinist, pedagogue and artistic promoter Matteo Calosci performs regularly in Italy and abroad as a soloist, chamber musician and recitalist. A representative of the renowned violin school of Prof. Zakhar Bron, he has appeared in prestigious venues including Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, Palazzo del Quirinale in Rome, Sala Verdi in Milan, Tonhalle Zurich, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Berliner Philharmonie, Herkulessaal Munich, collaborating as a soloist with orchestras such as Orchestra Milano Classica, Filarmonia Madrid, Rossini Conservatory Symphony Orchestra, San Marino Chamber.
Personally selected by Maestro Zakhar Bron, since 2012 he has been a member of the prestigious Zakhar Bron Chamber ensemble. Winner of national and international competitions, he received an Honorable Mention at the International Mencherini Competition and was awarded scholarships from the Rossini Foundation and the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
He graduated with highest honours from the Rossini Conservatory in Pesaro and furthered his studies at the Hochschule für Musik Mannheim, Stauffer Academy in Cremona and Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan. He also completed advanced studies in Violin, Chamber Music and Viola at the Conservatories of Milan, Cesena and Rimini. Together with Leonora Armellini and Ludovico Armellini, he graduated with highest honours in Chamber Music from the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome.
Founder of the "Accademia Violinistica di Padova", Matteo Calosci is Professor of Violin at the Rossini Music University in Pesaro. He regularly gives masterclasses at prestigious institutions across Europe, the latest of which was the Orpheus Summer Academy in Vienna, and is frequently invited to serve on the jury of international competitions, such as the "Andrea Postacchini" International Violin Competition in Fermo.
He is Artistic Director of the ClassicAncona Festival and President of the Young Artists Promotion Programme, dedicated to supporting and promoting emerging young musicians.
He performs on a Nicolò Gagliano, Naples 1750 violin, property of the Segelman Trust, London, on loan thanks to the support of UniMc Orchestra.
